NORTH READING — Seventeen local restaurants will be featured in the “Taste of North Reading” Food Pantry Benefit Dinner on Friday, Oct. 2.

Residents will have an opportunity to sample food from North Reading restaurants, enjoy live music, browse a silent auction and win a door prize – all while helping to feed others in the North Reading community!

Aldersgate Church is hosting a benefit dinner for the North Reading Food Pantry at the Hillview Country Club on Friday, Oct. 2. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner begins at 7 p.m. “The Phat 8 Swing Band” featuring vocalist Maureen Pilot will entertain attendees during the evening and all profits from the dinner ticket price will be donated to the North Reading Food Pantry. The cost for purchasing tickets in advance is $25 but the door price is $30.

At press time, local restaurant partners include: China Cuisine, Frankie’s Sweet Shoppe, Ginger Gourmet, Great American Tavern, Hornet’s Nest, Hillview Country Club, Horseshoe Grill, Joe Fish, Kitty’s, Mario’s, Mike’s Famous Roast Beef and Pizza, Nan’s Center Café, Pepperidge Farm, Ryer’s Store, Starbucks, Theresa’s Grille 19 and Wishing Well Chocolates.

In addition, from North Reading High School, Mary-Jane Skahan’s vocational class will provide a dessert. Silent auction donations range from a framed arial photo of your home taken by a drone donated by Advanced Photo, to seasonal and themed gift baskets, to a custom decorative letter made of cork for your home.
