MELROSE — In response to a call for training from Melrose parents and caregivers, the Melrose Health & Human Services Department and Massachusetts non-profit Operations250 will co-host a free online training “Navigating the Virtual World” geared towards supporting parents on Thursday, May 4, at 7 p.m. via Zoom. The training will include an overview of online risk-taking, preventative skills building, and caregiver/youth conversation skills.

The webinar’s key topics will include:

Starting the conversation about social media with youth; Youth online risk-taking and the psychological effect of “the internet” on their decisions; Risk associations and unsafe behaviors online; The reality of risks and where they exist and preventative skills building.
