MELROSE — The Melrose-Wakefield Winter Farmers Market is back for its third season, starting on Nov. 20 and continuing one Sunday a month from December through April, with market days on Dec. 18, Jan. 15, Feb. 19, March 19 and April 23 at Memorial Hall at 590 Main St., Melrose from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

They will have most of the farmers and vendors who were here last winter season, as well as some new vendors. As always, the market will offer a wonderful array of local produce, sustainably raised meat, poultry, eggs and cheese, fresh fish, pasta, dips and spreads, maple syrup, honey, preserves, teas, spice blends, Fair Trade coffee, wine, hard cider and a wide array of fresh baked goods. A selection of artisan vendors offering soaps, candles, herbal products and more will also attending.

Each market day will also feature The Magic of Yarrow’s exquisite balloon twisting skills, delightful and educational entertainment for the youngsters by Baby Songs, and tasty recipes and cooking demonstrations by Wakefield Market Manager Wendy Dennis. Every market day will also feature soups, beverages and super snacks and a café area in which to take a break and enjoy a bite.

Here are the vendors (not final!) expected on Nov. 20: Aaronap Cellars, Ackermann’s Maple Farm, Bagel Land of Winchester, Barefoot Books, Bondat Foods, Coutts Specialty Foods, Deano’s Pasta, Dicks Market Garden, Emmett’s Edibles, Farmer Dave’s, Goodies Homemade, Habibi (formerly Samira’s) In Good Taste, Jollywood Christmas Trees, Lilac Hedge Farm, Mamadou’s Artisan Bakery, Oakdale Farm, Pleasant Moments, The Popover Lady, Pour Man’s Coffee, The Roasted Granola, Roberto’s Seafood, Sarah’s Originals, Shady Pine Farm, Soluna Garden Farm, The Soup Guy, Swiss Bakers, Tower Craft Beverages, Vermont Gourmet Candy Dish and West River Creamery.

The market accepts SNAP benefits and will match up to $10 per market day, and “market money” accepted by all the vendors can be purchased via your credit or debit card.
