WAKEFIELD — Phyllis (Green) Crozier, 98, died peacefully on Dec. 22, 2020, at the Bear Hill Nursing Home in Stoneham after a period of declining health.
She was born in Revere on Oct. 26, 1922, to the late Alfred R. and Imogene (Murphy) Green. She moved to Malden, where she resided for many years before moving to Wakefield, where she had been a resident for 65 years.
She worked at Employer’s Liability Insurance, where she was secretary to the Office Manager in the New England Department and later worked at Parke Snow (currently alanos) in Wakefield.
Phyllis loved visiting her granddaughter, Sara, and husband Jeff in New Hampshre, gardening, reading, word searches and bird watching. She also loved her cat, Nicky. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She was a member of the Wakefield Lynnfield United Methodist Church and enjoyed serving in many capacities, especially peeling apples for apple pies at its annual fall fair.
Phyllis was predeceased by her lifelong sweetheart and loving husband, Clyde E. Crozier of Malden. They had 43 wonderful years together before his death in 1986.
Phyllis was the loving mother to her son Richard and daughter-in-law Ellen (Contardo) Crozier, and her daughter Beverly (Crozier) Anderson and husband Clifford. Cherished grandmother to Sara Gilbert Coleman and her husband Jeff. Caring sister to Virginia (Green) Lord and to the late William Green and Robert Green. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews and friends.
Due to COVID, there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
