THIS WEEK’S MHS Athlete of the Week wrapped up a remarkable volleyball season with a huge 625 season assists as setter of the girls volleyball team. Junior captain Leah Fowke had over 100 post season assists including 45 against Billerica in the Div. 2 quarterfinals to help Melrose finish 19-4 in

LAST WEEK Hollywood came to Melrose to film some scenes on Charles Street and Oakland Street for the sequel to “Beetlejuice.” The film stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara and Jenna Ortega, the lead actress shown here riding a bicycle. Tree Lighting Ceremony Dec. 2

LYNNFIELD — Lynnfield Recreation’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Saturday, Dec. 2 on the Town Common, beginning at 3 p.m.

Santa Claus will arrive at 3 p.m. and will be available for free photos. Lynnfield Recreation will be handing out hot chocolate and cookies again.
