Czarnota, Lord named CAL All-Stars

NORTH READING — Two members of the North Reading High field hockey team were recently named Cape Ann League Second Team All-Stars this fall.  

The two Hornets to make the squad are sophomores Rees Lord and Ava Czarnota. Lord is a midfielder while Czarnota is a forward.

Big game tickets on sale Monday

NORTH READING — Tickets for the big Thanksgiving Day football game between the Green and Gold North Reading Hornets and the Blue and Gold Lynnfield Pioneers go on sale Monday at the North Reading High Athletic Office.

The showdown begins at 10 a.m. at Lynnfield High’s Pioneer Stadium.

Hornets hang tough, fall to Melrose 28-15

MELROSE — The North Reading football Hornets were defeated for the second straight week, losing 28-15 to the Melrose Red Raiders last Friday night at Fred Green Memorial Field.
