MELROSE — Delia E. (Root) Hamblin of Melrose, formerly of Medford and Brattleboro, Vt., died on Friday, June 19.
She was the wife of the late Robert S. Hamblin.
She was the loving mother of Marie (Holly) Bowen and her husband Robert of Lynchburg, Va., Maureen Buzby of Melrose, Eileen Hamblin and her husband Lawrence Cannon of Melrose, Robert L. Hamblin and the late Suzanne of Hinsdale, N.H., Michael Hamblin and his wife Michelle of Arlington and Ramona Hamblin and her husband George Perides of Newton.
She was the loving grandmother of Teagan, Michael, Colleen and the late Todd Bowen, Brian Buzby, Chris, Nicole and Kate Cannon, Ashley Houston, Chris and Renee Hamblin, Sophia, Andrew and Alexia Perides, and great-grandmother of Ryan, Jack, Emily, Meredith, Sebastian, Isaac, Angel and Jake.
She was the sister of Sylvia Ogsbury or Florida, Ilene Bridges of Arizona, Albert Root of Vermont, Erma Crowell of Florida, Donald Root of Florida and the late Adolphus, Alfred and Laurence Root and Ann Salerno. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Church, Herbert Street, Melrose at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hallmark Health Hospice, Mystic Valley Elder Services or a charity of your choice.
