ObitSaletnik-webWAKEFIELD — Edward J. Saletnik, 64, of Wakefield died on Sunday, Feb. 21 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Southbridge on May 18, 1951, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Ann M. (Sroka) Saletnik.

Mr. Saletnik was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1969, and had attended Boston College. He had been a Wakefield resident since 1967 and was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield. Mr. Saletnik was a retired driver for Access in Peabody. He enjoyed traveling and skiing.

Mr. Saletnik is survived by his wife Barbara A. (Horne) Saletnik; his three daughters Elizabeth A. Hartigan and her husband James of Wilmington, Cynthia M. Saletnik of Wakefield and Jaclyn M. Stead and her husband Darren of Wakefield; his sister Julianne Theroux and her husband Wayne of Windsor, Conn., and his two granddaughters Abigail and Madelyn Hartigan. He was the brother-in-law of Catherine Campbell and her husband Robert of Clinton Township, Mich.; Mary Lucey and her husband John of Ipswich; John Horne and his wife Melanie of Byfield; James Horne and his wife Marsha; Carol Duncan and her husband Michael; Margaret Havey and her husband Robert and Elizabeth LaSpina and her husband Steven, all of Wakefield. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.  Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
