Lifelong resident had many interests

 

Obit-Lawrence-webWAKEFIELD — Eleanor F. Lawrence, 76, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, passed away peacefully Feb. 23, at the Meadow View Center in North Reading, after a brief illness.

She was born on June 30, 1938, the daughter of the late G. Elmer and Marion (Spencer) Ring. She was the retired bookkeeper for Barnard Die Inc. of Wakefield where she worked for over 25 years.

Ellie was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1956. While in school, she was a majorette. She enjoyed gardening, baking chocolate chip cookies, collecting raccoons, feeding the birds and deer but, above all, she most enjoyed shopping at Kohl’s and lunches at the 99 Restaurant in Lynnfield.

Ellie was the wife of the late Lloyd Lawrence. She is survived by sisters-in-law Lois and Debbie Ring, both of East Wakefield, N.H.; her nephews Kevin Ring and Zachary Ring, also of East Wakefield, N.H.; her niece Patti Rauschnot of Effingham, N.H., and many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends whom she considered family. She was preceded in death by her brothers Edward and Daniel Ring.

Her funeral will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 11 a.m. with a visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m.

Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
