ANDOVER — Elizabeth “Lisa” Tedesco, 59, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Andover on December 20.
Lisa was born in Malden on September 6, 1957. She was raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, the University of Massachusetts, Boston and attended Emerson College.
She was the Boston radio legend Lisa Lipps. Miss Tedesco began her career at KISS 108 along with DJ Lady D, the real Diana Steel, as the station was in its infancy. Lisa created the Soap Up-Date, reporting on the day-time soap operas and wrote a hit song in 1981 entitled ‘General Hospi-Tale’ on the story line of General Hospital.
She was very close to Sonny Joe White and Matty from “Matty in the Morning.”
Lisa lived most of her life in Stoneham and the past 2 years in Andover.
Miss Tedesco was the daughter of the late Philip and Ellen (Ilmonen) Tedesco. She was the sister of MaryEllen Doyle and her husband Henry of Melrose and the late Philip and William Tedesco. She was the aunt of Christopher Doyle, Sean Doyle, Jessica Doyle and Erin Bunten.
Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tuesday, December 27, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, Herbert Street.
Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
