MOULTONBORO, N.H. — Eugenia R. Gilbert of Moultonboro, N.H., and formerly of Wakefield, died Tuesday, Nov. 1 at the Rockingham County Rehab and Nursing Center in Brentwood, N.H.

Born in Somerville on March 23, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Beatrice (Collins) Ritchie.

Mrs. Gilbert was raised in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1947. She had been longtime Wakefield resident, having lived in town for 23 years before moving to New Hampshire. She was a former waitress at the Hilltop Restaurant and was a member of St. Florence Church.

Mrs. Gilbert was the wife of William R. Gilbert. She was the mother of Kathleen M. Robbins of New Hampshire, Thomas M. Gilbert of Haverhill, Kevin Gilbert of Arizona, Ann E. Bennion of Tennessee and the late David W. Gilbert. She was the sister of the late Rita Bradley, William Richie, Thomas Ritchie, Beatrice Miele, Joseph Ritchie and Marie DelTorto. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
