WAKEFIELD – The inaugural “First Thursday Downtown” is scheduled for Thursday, June 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Albion Cultural Exchange and will feature young up and coming artists from the Wakefield High School Visual Arts Department.
“On May 19 we showcased the work of our graduating seniors and now it’s time to present our upcoming talent,” said Joy Schilling of the Wakefield High School Visual Arts Department and Albion Cultural Exchange Committee.
The Albion Cultural Exchange has an open main floor gallery with natural light pouring in from Palladian windows and is in the heart of downtown Wakefield at 9 Albion St.
“We wanted to create a regular monthly event for people to come downtown and enjoy local art and culture,” said Albion Cultural Exchange Committee Chairman Chris J. Carino.
First Thursday’s Downtown is just beginning and the Albion Cultural Exchange is looking to add various monthly community partners to participate in First Thursday’s Downtown. If your business or organization is interested in participating, please contact the Cultural Exchange through the website www.albionculturalexchange.org or by attending one of their events.
