Loved animals, adopted many over the years

Gaye-OBrien-Obit-webREADING — Gaye E. O’Brien, 64, of Reading, formerly of North Reading, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015 at Wingate at Reading, after a long illness.

Born in Winchester on Jan. 30, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Nelson P. and Mildred A. (Messenger) O’Brien. She attended North Reading Public Schools and was a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 1969.

Gaye worked for many years as a Dog Groomer. She loved animals and fostered or adopted many over the years. Gaye was well known for her infectious laugh and large personality.

Family members include her loving brothers, William A. O’Brien and his wife Birgitta of Maggie Valley, N.C. and Edward A. O’Brien and his wife Stacey Rigopoulos of Andover. She was the sister of the late Nelson P. O’Brien Jr. and Gail O’Brien.

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to: Methuen Animal Care and Adoption Center at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen MA 01844. Arrangements are by the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., North Reading.
