Helen-Walker-obitp-webMELROSE — Helen “Lun” (Cassell) Walker, 82, of Melrose passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Nov. 11.

Helen was born in Malden on July 3, 1934. Helen was raised in Malden, attended Malden Schools and has been a resident of Melrose for the past 40 years.

Mrs. Walker worked at Scully Signal for 18 years in Wilmington and then in the Housekeeping Department at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for 10 years.

Lun loved dogs, cats and animals in general and was always there to care for the pets of all her family and neighbors. Helen enjoyed taking trips up to York Beach in Maine to visit her niece Debbie and family and loved to go out to eat and play Keno with all her family and friends.

She had a great sense of humor, was loved dearly by all her family and neighbors and was considered a second mother to all her nieces and nephews.

Helm was the daughter of the late David and Helen Cassell. She was the sister of Edna Mollins of Melrose, Donald Cassell of Everett, the late Margaret “Peg” Berube and her husband Robert Berube of Melrose and the late Arlene Arenes. She was the former wife of the late Robert E. Walker. Also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and friends.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Sunday, Nov. 13.
