World War II veteran, longtime Mason

 

NORTH READING — James H. “Jim” Burnett, of North Reading, formerly of Everett, passed away suddenly on Oct. 1, at 95 years. He was the loving and devoted husband of Rosalind “Rose” C. Burnett (Risteen, formerly Dunn) for 44 years. He was the loving father of Linda Burnett of Salem, N.H. and Alan Burnett of Martha’s Vineyard and the cherished stepfather of Ed Dunn and his wife Cindy of Wakefield and the father-in-law of Teresa. He was the beloved grandfather to three grandchildren and two step–grandchildren, six great–grandchildren and two step–great–grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services took place at the J.F. Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway, Everett on Sunday, Oct. 5. Jim served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was a longtime Mason and had a lifelong passion for rebuilding and flying small airplanes. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Jim’s memory to your favorite charity.
