MALDEN — Karen A. Bennett, 54, of Malden, formerly of Melrose and Everett, passed away on January 1, 2017.
Karen was born in Malden, raised in Melrose and was a graduate of the Northeast Vocational School in Wakefield, Class of 1980. She resided in Melrose for many years, Everett for 20 years and several years in Malden. Karen worked as a waitress and bartender at the Town Line and Mundo’s, both in Malden for many years. She loved traveling to Daytona Beach, Florida and spending time with friends at the Eastside Social Club in Malden. Karen was a hard worker, enjoyed arts and crafts, and was a very giving person.
She was the loving daughter of the late Arnold and Jean (Sullivan) Bennett. She was the caring sister of Kevin Bennett and his wife Joanne of Tewksbury; and Ken Bennett of Everett. Karen was predeceased by her late boyfriend Brian Caruso. She was the cherished aunt of Nicole Bennett of Tewksbury. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Monday, Jan 9 from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Stoneham. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Karen’s name to the charity of your choice.
