Wakefield’s Shawn Conway takes fifth overall

LYNNFIELD — Burlington, Vt.’s Richard Carrick and Lynnfield’s Olivia Lamarche paced a field of nearly 230 runners at the 49th annual Fourth of July Road Race Monday.

Carrick, 29, topped the field with an overall time of 17:45 for the 5K race, setting a mile pace of 5:44.

Lamarche, 18, took top honors among the women in 19:40, running a mile pace of 6:21. She finished 13th overall out of 229 entrants.

In spite of the heat, the race was a huge success for the Lynnfield Athletic Association (LAA), which runs the event as a fundraiser to support the athletes and athletic programs of the Lynnfield High School Pioneers.

Wakefield’s Shawn Conway, 45, finished among the top 10 for male winners as he finished fifth in a time of 18:47.

Rounding out the top 10 for the men’s runners were: Mahomet, Ill.’s Joseph Churm (18:07), Danvers’ Andrew Moriarity (18:21), Lynnfield’s Brian Hutter (18:38), Lynnfield’s Devin Billings (19:06), Woburn’s Matt Dimauro (19:16), Medford’s Sean Akell (19:23), Peabody’s Michael Welshons (19:26) and Brookline’s Chad Barraford (19:30).

The rest of the top 10 female runners included: Mahomet, Ill.s’ Megan Churm (20:23), Melrose’s Emily McDivitt (20:50), Lynnfield’s Kara Moran (21:57), Melrose’s Alexandra Millstrom (21:59), Lynnfield’s Hannah Zaitlin (22:34), Wilmington’s Vicky McDermott (22:36), Lynnfield’s Mia Deluccia (22:36), Malden’s Jennifer Cloherty (22:48) and Melrose’s Elizabeth Emerald (23:08).

There were male and female age group winners as well. Those included Zacory Benedetto, Lynnfield, 29:02 (male 10 and under); Iris Mayerson, Lynnfield, 25:22 (female 10 and under); Nathan Lopez, Lynnfield, 20:33 (male 11-13); April Weeks, Portsmouth, N.H., 26:50 (female 11-13); Joseph Churm, Mahomet, Ill., 18:07 (male 14-16); Megan Churm, Mahomet, Ill., 20:23 (female 14-16); Matthew Dimauro, Woburn, 19:16 (male 17-19); Vicky McDermott, Wilmington, 22:36 (female 17-19); Jeff Cook, Lynnfield, 19:37 (male 20-29); Alexandra Millstrom, Melrose, 21:59 (female 20-29); Brian Hutter, Lynnfield 18:38 (male 30-39); Kara Moran, Lynnfield 21:57 (female 30-39); Shawn Conway, Wakefield, 18:47 (male 40-49); Emily McDivitt, Melrose, 20:50 (female 40-49); Bill Squires, Reading, 19:55 (male 50-59); Elizabeth Emerald, Melrose, 23:08 (female 50-59); John Dove, Revere, 24:15 (male 60-69); Zeke Zannotti, Lynnfield, 33:18 (male 70-99) and Sarah Kelly, Naples, Fla., 39:13 (female 70-99).

Wakefield’s Graham Leman, ran a time of 19:46 for second place in the male 20-29 age group, while Chuck Connell, posted a time of 21:00 for third place in the male 40-49 age category and Bill Havice, clocked in at 23:26 for third in the male 50-59 age division.
