WAKEFIELD — The last planning meeting for participants and anyone interested in joining or volunteering for the Relay For Life of Wakefield is Monday, June 8, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at The Savings Bank, 351 Main St., Wakefield.
At the meeting participants will go over important information for day-of-Relay logistics, chaperone/youth guidelines, campsite selection, the luminaria process, raffles and bank night. T-shirts will be available for participants who have raised at least $100.
Relay For Life of Wakefield (also serving Lynnfield, Melrose and Saugus), begins Friday, June 19, at 6 p.m., and ends on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Northeast Metro Tech, 100 Hemlock Rd., Wakefield.
If you haven’t already signed up for Relay, it’s not too late! They have many fun activities planned including performances by the Dance Studio of Wakefield, WHS Dance Team and Dancers for Cancer as well as a wing eating contest sponsored by Buffalo Wild Wings, Zumba classes, haircuts & hair donations (for wigs for survivors undergoing chemotherapy), theme laps and much more. Their theme this year is Saving The World From Cancer One Lap At A Time. So dust off your capes and bring your superhero costumes for the Superhero Party and join the fun – prizes awarded!
