Loved gardening and traveling

LYNNFIELD — Linda E. Gauvreau, 84, a longtime Lynnfield resident, died on Feb. 25, 2024 at the Hunt Skilled Nursing Home in Danvers.

Born in Lynn on April 1, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Esther (Danielsson) Hagfeldt. Ms. Gauvreau was a longtime Lynnfield resident and was a member of the Centre Congregational Church of Lynnfield. She had worked for and retired from M/A-Com as an IT supervisor.

Linda had a passion for gardening and was often called on to nurse her friends’ plants back to health, all with great results. She was a “Plant Whisperer.” She loved spending time at neighborhood cookouts and parties as well as dining out with her high school friends. Linda loved to travel with her numerous “Travel Buddies.” She also spent time traveling the United States as a competitive trapshooter, winning several trophies and bragging rights.

She was the loving mother of Keith E. Gauvreau and his partner Traci Nicosia of Lynnfield; Kevin W. Gauvreau and his wife, Maria, of Londonderry, New Hampshire; and Stephanie J. Whitcomb and her husband, Kenneth, of Peabody.

Linda’s funeral Service was held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday, March 2, 2024. A springtime committal will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield at a future date. To sign the online guestbook, visit mcdonaldfs.com.
