LYNNFIELD — Grayce Margaret Kushmerek, 70, a longtime resident of Lynnfield, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019 at her residence.

Born in Lynn on December 18, 1948, she was the daughter of the late John Alexander and Anne (Calder) Dick.

Grayce was raised throughout New England. She had attended UMass Amherst, Salem State College, and ultimately received her bachelor’s degree from Merrimack College. She later received her master’s degree in education from Salem State College.

Grayce had first gone to work as the director of public relations at Beverly Hospital before making the decision to stay at home and raise her family for a number of years. She ultimately found her way back to teaching and taught computer technology at Lynnfield Middle School for many years until her retirement.

She had a passion for arts and crafts and loved animals; most especially dogs. She was a dedicated member of the Centre Congregational Church in Lynnfield and enjoyed traveling, particularly one very memorable trip to Italy and a family trip to Disney World.

She was the mother of Kristin A. Devlin and her husband James of Tewksbury; and Adam J. Kushmerek and his wife Courtney of Billerica. She was the sister of John Dick and his wife Judith of Salem. She was the grandmother of Alexis Grayce Devlin and Harleigh Gray Kushmerek. She is also survived by her niece Jennifer McNeil and her nephew Jeremy Dick.

Her memorial service was held in the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer St., on Saturday, Jan. 19. Relatives and friends were invited to attend. A private interment was held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn. Arrangements in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
