WAKEFIELD — Maria G. D’Olimpio, 92, of Wakefield died Dec. 7 in Danvers.

Mrs. D’Olimpio was born in Alanno, Italy on April 9, 1922 and was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Anna (Belli) Buccelli. She emigrated from Italy in 1954 and made her home in Wakefield.

She had been employed at the L.B. Evans Shoe Company of Wakefield for many years as a stitcher. She later worked for many area nursing homes and was a devoted homemaker, cook and gardener. She also was a member of St. Florence Church.

Mrs. D’Olimpio was the devoted wife of the late Angelo D’Olimpio. She was the loving mother of Louis A. D’Olimpio of Wakefield and the loving grandmother of Joseph M. D’Olimpio. She was the sister of the late Amilia Aretusi and was the aunt of Remo Aretusi and his wife Frances and the great aunt of Daniel and Julie Aretusi. She was the great-step-grandmother of Betty Ann Hansen.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave,. Wakefield, on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield, at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m.
