WHS graduate led town’s traffic supervisors

STONEHAM — Marie C. Cahill, 89, of Stoneham and formerly of Wakefield, died at her home on Friday, Dec. 9, with her family by her side.
Born in Somerville, Sept. 18, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Mary (Magliozzi) Antetomaso.
Marie was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1945. She was twice the president of the Wakefield Traffic Supervisors, serving in that capacity for a total of 16 years of service. She worked alongside her husband James for many years running Cahill Antiques, which was located on Emerson Street. Early on in her career Marie was a manager for Bud’s Women’s Apparel in the 1940s. She was a lifelong and active member of St. Joseph Parish.
She was the beloved wife of the late James F. Cahill. Marie is the loving mother of James F. Cahill Jr. of Middleton, Thomas J. Cahill and his wife Karen of Litchfield Park, Ariz. and the late Robert C. Cahill. She was the sister of Josephine Brickley of Stoneham and the late Anthony A. and Arthur C. Antetomaso and Alice Dell’Arciprete. She was the loving grandmother of Jillian, Cassandra, Ryan and Kristen and was the beloved aunt of Brenda Contilli, Anthony Antetomaso and several other nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday morning prior to the funeral from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
