WAKEFIELD — Marjorie A.L. Simensen, 98, of Wakefield died on Wednesday, May 25 at Care One in Wilmington.

Born on Exploits Island in Newfoundland, on Dec. 25, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Chesley and Gertrude (Lilley) Miley.

Mrs. Simensen was raised in Everett and was a graduate of Everett High School. She had been a Wakefield resident since 1941 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wakefield.

Mrs. Simensen had retired from the former American Mutual Insurance Company and later from the Winchester Hospital and had also worked at the Wakefield High School cafeteria. She was a member of the Wakefield Senior Center and the Kosmos Club in Wakefield.

Mrs. Simensen was the wife of the late John Simensen. She is survived by her two sons: Arthur Simensen and his wife MaryAnn of Wells, Maine and Alfred L. Simensen and his wife Diane of North Woodstock, N.H.; her two grandchildren: Erik Simensen of Lowell and Kari Roberts of Tucker, Ga. and her three great-grandchildren: Skyler and Spencer Roberts and Grace Simensen. Mrs. Simensen was predeceased by her two brothers, Arthur Milley and Lloyd Milley, and her sister Mary List.

A funeral service will be held in the First Baptist Church, 8 Lafayette St., Wakefield on Monday at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
