MELROSE — Angelina “Dolly” (DiMauro) Sousa, 83, of Melrose, died at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on November 18, 2019.

Dolly was raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, was a lifelong resident of Melrose and a longtime member of St. Mary’s Church. Mrs. Sousa worked in the banking industry for over 20 years as a check item processor at FiServe and the Boston Company. Dolly enjoyed traveling with her late husband Arthur to Italy and Hawaii and took numerous trips to the racetrack in Saratoga, N.Y. She was an excellent cook, had Sunday dinner for her family every week at 12 noon and was known for meatballs.

Dolly was the beloved wife of the late Arthur A. Sousa Sr. (retired Boston Police Officer). Loving mother of Arthur Sousa Jr. and his wife Donna of Troy, Maine, Rose Sousa-Grasso of Melrose and Anthony Sousa and his wife Reneé of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Kendra, Candace, Christopher, Anthony Jr., Deanna, and Michael. Proud great-grandmother of Kianna and Kiarra. Caring sister of Nicholas DiMauro Jr. of Melrose and the late Joseph and Rocco DiMauro. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thursday, November 21, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St. Melrose. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend.
