MELROSE — Mary E. Ritchie, 67, of Melrose passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020 in Melrose Wakefield Hospital following a brief illness.

Mary was born August 9, 1952 in Melrose, daughter of the late Joseph F. and Margaret M. (Grant) Ritchie. She was a lifelong resident of Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School Class of 1970.

Mary enjoyed living at the McCarthy building, she ran Bingo and served as President of the Tenants Association. She was also very involved with all the activities and enjoyed decorating the building for every season and holiday. Mary enjoyed traveling and taking trips with her sister Dorothy.

Mary worked as a receptionist in Nuclear Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center for many years until her retirement. She previously worked for Fidelity Investments.

Mary is survived by her sister Dorothy A. Cammarata of Melrose, her two brothers Peter D. Ritchie and his wife Rita of Lynn and Christopher J. Ritchie and his wife Lori of Oklahoma. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Monday March 9. Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St. Melrose on Tuesday, March 10.
