Loved to travel, enjoyed dancing and an avid tennis player
MELROSE — MaryJane (Fogg) Hardiman, a lifelong resident of Melrose died peacefully on December 30 at the age of 95. She was born in Melrose on March 3, 1929 to the late Ellen E. (Burns) and Willard F. Fogg. MaryJane was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School in 1957. She worked in the insurance business in Boston for many years before marrying her late husband William at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield.
MaryJane retired after marrying William Hardiman in May 1982. They traveled extensively and enjoyed spending time with family. She loved her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing and was an avid tennis player. In her spare time, she was a devoted volunteer at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital gift shop as well as the Lynnfield senior center.
MaryJane was the loving wife of the late William Hardiman. She is survived by her stepchildren: Michael Hardiman of Malden; Julie Briggs and her husband Stephen of Melrose; Ann Wilson and her husband Raymond of Chelmsford; Paul Hardiman and his wife Doreen of Derby, KS; and Mary McNally and her husband Kevin of Lynnfield. Proud grandmother of Jennifer, Kara, Jeffrey, Michael, the late Ryan, Julia, Raymond, Seth, Karlee, Katie, Grace; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours were held on Tuesday, January 7 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. A funeral Mass was held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7 at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield. Interment followed the Mass at Forest Dale Cemetery, 150 Forest St., Malden. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions were made to The Michael J.
