WAKEFIELD — A pedestrian walking Lake Quannapowitt yesterday morning was reportedly struck by a vehicle near the intersection of North Avenue and Willard Road.

While a complete report of the incident was not ready this morning, police did say that they went to the accident scene around 10:20 a.m. yesterday. The person who was struck by a vehicle was conscious and alert. The pedestrian was taken to Lahey Clinic for treatment.

Police said a citation was issued for a crosswalk violation as well.

A client of a group home on Montrose Avenue got sick around 7:35 a.m. yesterday after allegedly being given the wrong medication. Police notified firefighters and Action Ambulance personnel.

A citation was given to the owner of a vehicle reportedly blocking a Main Street driveway around 11:25 a.m.

An erratic operator was reported driving along Salem Street at 11:37 a.m. yesterday. The driver was in a white sedan with Pennsylvania license plates. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

A bracelet found near Lake Quannapowitt was turned into police around 1 p.m. yesterday.

A white sedan parked on the sidewalk at Water Street and Butler Avenue was ticketed just before 2:30 p.m.

A Prospect Street woman said her daughter returned home from school yesterday to find both doors to the house open and the family dog missing sometime before 3 p.m.

Police said the doors appeared to be left open overnight. The dog was still missing as of yesterday afternoon.

At 3 p.m. yesterday, police went to a Montrose residence after someone said they heard banging and someone yelling at an unknown home on Mackenzie Lane. They said they were unable to locate any disturbance.

Police went to a local residence around 4 p.m. yesterday after being told the resident wanted to dispose of his deceased mother’s liquid medication.

The Animal Control Department was asked to investigate a complaint of possible animal mistreatment after being told yesterday round 4:15 p.m. that a woman on Valley Street yells extensively at her dog when she takes it out into the yard.

A 30-year-old Vernon Street man will be summonsed to court for taking a right turn on a red light where it is prohibited, as well as for driving with a suspended license after police stopped him around 7:35 p.m. at the corner of Main and Water streets.

Emergency medical personnel were called after an unresponsive man was found behind The Savings Bank ATM in the Square around 1:15 a.m. today.

Firefighters had some issues with squatters early last night behind a couple of New Salem Street properties. At about 6:30 p.m. a crew went to 51 New Salem St. after being told of illegal burning and returned around 7 p.m. to 87 New Salem St. for the same thing.
