THE EAGER, shiny faces of some of North Reading Little League’s youngest players greeted those along the parade route.

A group of veterans marched in the parade

YANKEE DOODLE DANDY! The Marching Hornets entertained the crowd with many patriotic classics

DISPLAYING their Red, White and Blue proudly were members of the Capalbo family, from left: Joe, Kerry, Alexis, 13, and Kayla, 10.

VETERANS were well represented at the parade and post-parade ceremonies. Among them were Tomas Sanchez, with his wife Roberta, at left, and Amy Conti and her husband Tim. Sanchez served in the Navy from 1973-77 and then with the Mass. National Guard through 2008. Conti is a Sgt. 1st Class with the Mass. National Guard.

A THREE-MUSKET salute by members of the North Reading Minit and Militia preceded Taps. From left: Rich Stratton, Gordon Hall, Jim Maloney, Michael Peacock and Maxwell Murphy.

LEADING BY example, members of Boy Scout Troop 750 bow their heads during the playing of Taps at the post-parade ceremony.

GORDON HALL, 90, motored through the parade in his 1939 Packard.

THE ONLY bona fide boat to traverse the parade route was Art Gonsalves’ antique amphibious vehicle. It is often seen on Martins Pond.

QUITE LIKELY the oldest antique vehicle in the parade was this 1925 Model T Ford, proudly driven by Cliff Bowers. He was accompanied by his wife Ginny and daughter Laura.
