WAKEFIELD — A 32 year old Chelsea man was arrested yesterday for reportedly shoplifting 21 cans of baby formula from Shaw’s supermarket on Water Street.
According to police, Brian James Manzo-Horn, 143 Addison St., apartment 3, was arrested while walking on Wilson Road sometime after the 10:11 a.m. call for a shoplifter was received. They were told that a tall white man of medium build and wearing a black winter jacket had just stolen a large quantity of baby formula. Police were told he left the store and headed east down Water Street toward Valley Street.
Police located the suspect on Wilson Road, which is on the south side of Nahant Street. They said he had the baby formula stuffed inside his oversized coat.
Manzo-Horn also reportedly had a pill bottle with no label on it. Police determined it to be suboxone.
The cans of baby formula were valued at $350.

A 54 year old Danvers man was arrested around 5:20 p.m. yesterday after a police patrolman reported seeing a pickup truck fail to stop at a red light at the intersection of Salem and Main streets.
Police said the patrolman was in traffic near the intersection when the vehicle in front of him had to come to an abrupt halt because a black Ford F250 pickup went through the red light heading north on Main Street.
He was pulled over and during a routine check police determined that his driver’s license had been suspended.
Eric J. McMaster, 62 Water St., Danvers, was also charged with failing to stop at a red light.

At about 9 a.m. yesterday, police investigated a two motor vehicle accident in the parking lot of Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational School on Hemlock Road. Neither vehicle suffered any damage, the drivers reported.

A Northeast student reportedly fainted in class around 10 a.m. yesterday. The student was released to the custody of a parent and taken home for the day.

At 1:44 p.m. yesterday, tools were reportedly stolen from a pickup truck parked on Audubon Road. No further details were available at press time.

A driver told police around 1:45 yesterday that the operator of a white pickup truck tried to run her off the road and then was jamming on the brakes in front of her at the intersection of North Avenue and Quannapowitt Parkway. Police were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

A youngster reportedly found a capped syringe while walking home from school on Hopkins Street around 3:45 p.m. Police took possession of the syringe.

Glass in the roadway continues to be an issue along a stretch of Greenwood Street. More glass was found yesterday around 5:50 p.m.

The MBTA crossing on Broadway drew a call to police around 10 last night. A citizen said lights were flashing but no train was coming through. Also, the railroad gates were upright.
The MBTA came out, fixed the problem and stayed for a few trains to make sure things were working properly.
