WAKEFIELD — Public Works Director Richard Stinson has advised that beginning the week of Sept. 19, 2016, Brightview (Procon) and the DPW will begin sidewalk improvements between 330 Main Street (Sabatino’s Restaurant) and 354 Main Street (Jeffry’s Liquors). The work is anticipated to be completed by Sept. 30 or sooner (weather permitting). During some of the work phases additional updates will be provided with more details and schedules.

The work in the sidewalk area will include sidewalk panel, curbing, and brick border removal and replacement. All black town owned sidewalk trash receptacles and planting barrels will be temporarily removed during construction.

The contractor will be providing walk-in access to businesses where needed. Additionally, temporary parking restrictions will be in place during certain portions of the work.

Stinson apologized for any inconvenience the work may cause.

“The goal is to provide a much improved sidewalk in the area of the recent electrical and gas work undertaken by the WMGLD on behalf of the abutting properties,” Stinson said.
