U.S. Air Force veteran with local survivors

WILMINGTON — Stanley J. Koczen, 72, of Wilmington, died unexpectedly on April 21, 2016.

Stanley was the beloved husband of the late Cynthia A. (Bishop) Koczen; the devoted father of Debra A. Goldberg and husband Russell of North Reading, Stanley E. Koczen of Wilmington and Jennifer L. DiPerri and husband Jeffrey of Tewksbury. He was the loving grandfather of Jeremy, Lindsy and Carly Goldberg and Nicholas DiPerri. Stanley was the cherished son of the late Stanley P. and Helen (Hac) Koczen; the brother of the late Helen Wolaszek; son–in–law of Chesley and Phyllis Bishop of Newfoundland. Stanley is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as a large extended family in Newfoundland.

Family and friends gathered at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Wednesday, April 27, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers donations in Stanley’s memory may be made to Air Warrior Courage Foundation, P. O. Box 877, Silver Springs MD 20918. Stanley was a proud United States Air Force Veteran during the Vietnam War.
