Brewers, Expos win opening games

WAKEFIELD — The Wakefield Twi League semifinal playoffs have already begun and will continue for at least two more days this week. Both semifinal series are a best two-of-three games with the two winners meeting in a best-of-five final.
The third-seeded Brewers faced the second-ranked Loafers yesterday afternoon at Moulton Field, while the top-seeded Expos took on the fourth-ranked High Life last night at Moulton. The Brewers beat the Loafers, 3-1, and the Expos blasted the High Life, 11-4.
All the playoff games are scheduled to be played at Moulton.
On Monday night at 5:45 p.m., the Expos take on the High Life in Game 2 of the best-of-three series. Game three if necessary is scheduled for Wednesday night at 5:45 p.m.
Game 2 of the Brewers-Loafers series is schedule to be played Tuesday night at 5:45 p.m. Game 3 if necessary is scheduled for Thursday night at 5:45 p.m.
Friday will be a rain date if needed with any game being played that night scheduled to start at 5:45 p.m.
The schedule for the finals will follow the semifinal round. That schedule is yet to be announced.
