Dylan Melanson, David Melanson honored
WAKEFIELD — The Middlesex League golf coaches met recently to make this year’s all-stars selections in both the Freedom and Liberty divisions.
The M.L. Freedom division co-champion Warriors had two all-stars chosen. Junior Dylan Melanson and sophomore David Melanson were the two Wakefield golfers selected.
Dylan Melanson, a co-captain, played at numbers one and two most of the season and shot a 40.3 average. David Melanson, a sophomore, played primarily at three and four until moving up to the second position later in the season. David Melanson had a 40.9 average.
Wakefield and Watertown led the M.L. Freedom division with two all-stars selections, while Burlington and Stoneham each had one all-star named.
M.L. Liberty division champion Winchester had the most all-stars named in the Liberty division with four. Lexington was next with three, Reading and Belmont each had two all-stars chosen and Arlington and Woburn each had one player selected.
Lexington’s Jack Lang was named the league’s most valuable player.
