MELROSE — The Melrose-Wakefield-Saugus Veteran Services District and Mayor Robert J. Dolan invite Vietnam-era veterans, their families, and the public to a Pinning Ceremony and Reception for Vietnam Veterans on Wednesday, April 5, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the GAR Room, Memorial Hall, 590 Main St., Melrose. Vietnam-era veterans from Melrose, Wakefield and Saugus are being honored. Each veteran will be presented with a pin and a certificate, and there will also be a reception with light refreshments. Any veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces between November 1, 1955, and May 15, 1975, regardless of location, is eligible to participate. The Melrose-Wakefield-Saugus Veterans Services District is officially a partner member of the 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the Vietnam War, together with the Department of Defense. This is the first of several ceremonies honoring Vietnam veterans that the Melrose-Wakefield-Saugus Veteran Services District will hold over the next three years.
