WAKEFIELD — On Tuesday, the Dockside Restaurant hosted a fundraiser for the veterans’ “Roll to Washington” event which will be held from September 11-15. The trip is for Vietnam era veterans from the local area.

Funds raised will support an all-expenses paid trip for veterans from Melrose, Wakefield, and Saugus. This five-day, four-night trip includes a coach bus tour of Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, and several other stops. Veterans on the trip will stay at the Presidential Inn at Andrews Air Force Base.

Other major supporters include General Electric, Greater Lynn Social Services, and Waste Innovations (WIN) of Saugus (formerly Wheelabrator).
