McCrorey-obit-webMELROSE — Willie L. “Will” McCrorey, 41, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Sept. 24.

Willie was born in Hartford, Conn. on Nov. 15, 1973, was raised in Hartford, graduated from St. Justin School, Northwest Catholic High School and then from the University of Connecticut. He lived in New Hampshire for several years, Lawrence for a few years and the past five years in Melrose.

Willie was a talented IT computer engineer; he worked for Tweeter in New Hampshire and Peabody for Media One, GTE as well as other companies in the Boston area.

Mr. McCrorey enjoyed music, playing golf at Mount Hood; in Atkinson, N.H., and other surrounding courses. Will loved German cars, loved to cook and always found great local restaurants no matter what town he visited.

Mr. McCrorey was an awesome Dad who was completely devoted to his family, loved taking family drives to Portsmouth, N.H., Kittery, Maine, Mystic, Conn. and spending time on Arlington Pond in Salem, N.H.

Will was the beloved husband of 10 to years to his wife Meghan S. (Mitchell) McCrorey. He was the dedicated and loving father of Madison McCrorey of Neww Hampshire, Mitchell S. and Jacqueline C. McCrorey of Melrose. He was the cherished son of Willie H. and Mary (Scott) McCrorey of Hartford, Conn. He was the caring brother of Lakiesha McCrorey of Texas and Kevin McCrorey of Connecticut. He was the loving son-in-law of James and Janice (Partridge) Mitchell of Melrose. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose, on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service was held at the First Baptist Church, corner of Main and Upham streets in downtown Melrose on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m.

Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose will be private.

In lieu of flowers the McCrorey family request memorial contributions are made in Willie’s name to the McCrorey Family Educational Fund, c/o Melrose Cooperative Bank, 638 Main St., Melrose MA 02176.
