LYNNFIELD — Two members of the Lynnfield High volleyball team were recently named to the Cape Ann League All-Stars that was voted on by the league coaches.
The two Pioneers to make the team are Chase Carangelo and Erika Pasquale.
It is the first time on the team for both players.
Carangelo led the Pioneers in kills per set (3.7) and hitting percentage (0.351). The junior outside hitter also led the squad in digs (214), overall kills (266) and receptions (270).
Carangelo also made the MAVCA All-State team.
Pasquale, who is also a junior outside hitter, was tied with Carangelo for first in digs per set (3.0).and was second behind Carangelo in kills per set (3.0) and overall kills (111)
“Both are only juniors and will be returning next year with more experience and more confidence,” pointed out Pioneers head coach Brent Ashley.
This season, the Pioneers were knocked of the MIAA Division 3 state tournament in their first playoff match as they were edged, 3-2, at Lynn Classical back on Nov. 2.
With that loss, Lynnfield’s final overall record was 10-10.
In the CAL, they finished at 8-7 as they came in 5th place.
