MELROSE — The City of Melrose is sharing the following updates for the upcoming 

week: 

“Planning for Medicare” seminar on Oct. 24 

The Medicare Open Enrollment period is October 15th to December 7th! Now is a great time for individuals 60+ to learn about which plan is right for them and how to enroll! 

The Melrose Council on Aging and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts will hold a free seminar at the Milano Senior Center on October 24 at 6 p.m. to help Melrose residents understand their Medicare health insurance options. To register, call the Melrose Council on Aging at (781) 662-6886. 

Flu vaccine appointments still available 

The Melrose Department of Health and Human Services will offer free influenza vaccinations to any Melrose resident during the Mayor’s Senior Resource Fair on Tuesday, October 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Melrose Memorial Hall, 590 Main Street. 

The regular Sanofi Pasteur Fluzone vaccine will be available for anyone over 5 years old and the high-dose vaccine will be available to individuals 65 years and older. Pre-registration is highly recommended, and the registration link can be found at CityOfMelrose.org.
