WAKEFIELD — Peter K. Sweet was the son of Harold and Eleanor Sweet and the brother of Bradley and Charlie Sweet. He grew up on Marblehead Neck. Pete was a Marblehead police officer for eight years but later found a career as a Manufacturing Engineer. He married Laureen A. Goyett in 1978 and they raised four beautiful children: Julie, Kristen, Kevin and Dennis.

After the passing of Laureen in 2001, Pete found love in a woman named Linda Rowe of Wakefield. Pete spent the last 12 loving years with Linda, enjoying such hobbies as metal detecting, Ham radio and traveling all over the world. Pete enjoyed riding his motorcycle but most of all being with his loved ones. Weekends up at camp around the campfires and picking blueberries gave Pete a lot of enjoyment.

Pete loved unconditionally and was looking forward to the wedding of his oldest son Kevin, to fiancée Jaynie Tanner. His morning routine was checking on his in-laws Tom and Margaret. The favorite part of his night was giving Taco, his dog, his “treats” (exactly four!).

Pete lived a full life and his spirit will continue to carry his closest loved ones on.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St. at 10 a.m. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Beverly. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
