Dear Parent,
Thank you for registering your child for an athletic team at Wakefield Memorial High School for the 2015-16 winter sports season. This is a friendly reminder that there will be an informational Winter Sports “Parent Night” tonight, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Galvin Middle School auditorium.
Please note the location of the event is at the middle school, not the high school.
This will be an opportunity for you to meet the adults working with your child each day during the winter sports season. This meeting will take no longer than an hour.
For the first 15 minutes, all parents will meet in the auditorium. I will kick things off with a few statements and updates regarding our athletic department as a whole. Our Athletic Trainer, Sue Courchesne, will then speak about medical/safety protocols in case your child sustains an injury throughout the course of the season.
After Sue speaks, all parents will break off into smaller groups according to the sport you signed your child up for. You will follow your child’s coaches to a nearby classroom and you will have the rest of the night to meet and hear from your child’s coaches. Some of the topics that they will be discussing may include: practice and game schedules, team rules and expectations, parent involvement, etc.
I am very excited that your child is participating in a sport here at WMHS. It is my hope that our athletic department will help your child not only become a better athlete but also become a better student and a better person. I hope you can join us tonight at 7 p.m. Thank you and go Warriors!
Thank You,
Brendan Kent
