WAKEFIELD — Alice E. Fletcher, 89, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, passed away peacefully March 2 at Pilgrim Rehab and Nursing Center in Peabody.
She was born in Wakefield on Jan. 13, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Leo T. and Eleanor (Cullen) Gerrior.
Alice was raised and educated in Wakefield. She was the matriarch to her family and her extended family.
Alice was the beloved wife of the late Walter J. Fletcher. She was the loving mother of Thomas L. Fletcher and wife Gayle of Danvers, James A. Fletcher of Stoneham and Gayle M. Hill of Stoneham. She was the sister of Eleanor Malonson of Wakefield, Shirley Branco of North Andover, Leona Carr of New Hampshire and William Deveau of New Hampshire and the late Francis Gerrior and Wallace Gerrior. She was the grandmother of Donna, Amy, Julie, James, Dennis, CJ, Christine and the great-grandmother of seven.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield, at 10 a.m.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m.
Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
