WAKEFIELD — Anna Marie (Broderick) Bagarella, 92, passed away the morning of Sunday, May 21, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on September 4, 1924, and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Cummins) Broderick.
Born in Charlestown and a member of the Charlestown High School Class of 1941, she resided in Wakefield for over 60 years where she was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish.
She was an employee of the American Telephone and Telegraph Company.
Anna was active and involved in her community and with her family. She enjoyed bingo, swimming at the beach, walking Lake Quannapowitt and going to her kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events, concerts, graduations and other events.
She loved hitting the dance floor and talking about the Red Sox.
Her favorite gift in life was just having her family together.
Anna was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas R. Bagarella. A devoted mother, she leaves behind six children: Anne Marie Bagarella of Wakefield, Geraldine Carbone and her husband Nicholas of Wakefield, Nicholas Bagarella and his wife Joanne of Woburn, Margaret Bagarella and her wife Joanne Cuddy of Roslindale, Thomas Bagarella and his wife Donna of Swampscott, Joseph S. Bagarella and his wife Marie of North Attleboro. She was the loving grandmother of Nicholas, Kaitlyn and husband Jeffrey, Kristin, Michelle and husband William, Daniel and wife Amanda, David and wife-to-be Mary, Michael, Kathryn, Julia, Teresa and Joseph; as well as proud great-grandmother to Macy, Chase, Reece, Aiden and Luke. She was also the sister of the late Lawrence Broderick, Mary Broderick, Catherine Broderick, Margaret Brown and Elizabeth Richardson.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday, May 23, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
