WAKEFIELD — The Wakefield Memorial High boys’ tennis team posted a 4-12 record this past spring. But the Warriors won the 2016 MIAA Sportsmanship Award as their good sportsmanship has been recognized and will be honored.
Wakefield Memorial High School will be awarded the MIAA Boys’ Tennis Team Sportsmanship Award for 2016. The award will be presented to WMHS on Tuesday, June 14 at Wayland High School at the site of the Div. 2 state finals.
The presentation of the award will take at 3:15 p.m., prior to the start of the matches.
The MIAA has asked that WMHS High School Principal Richard Metropolis, and/or Athletic Director Brendan Kent, Coach Cheryl Connors and boys’ tennis captains to be present to receive the honor.
