THE Melrose National 12-year-old Jimmy Fund League has kicked off its fundraising season. This year the team (first photo) is dedicating its season to Melrose native Abigail “Abby” Kehoe. Abby was diagnosed with cancer four years ago and sadly, passed away this year in January at the age of 14. Abby had helped the team’s fundraising efforts throughout her illness by helping in the snack hut and with lemonade stands. The Melrose Jimmy Fund team is more determined than ever to raise money to honor Abby’s memory and have already been actively canning in surrounding areas including Fenway Park, Cambridge and downtown Boston.
