UPDATE: Volleyball girls advance to the Elite 8

 

THE MHS girls’ volleyball team had much to celebrate after a 3-0 sweep over Scituate in the first round of the Div. 2 playoffs last Friday. After press time, they defeat Billerica 3-1 and advance to the Elite 8 to play Canton this Friday at 6 p.m. For game details, visit www.miaa.net.

Gold medal effort for Melrose High Marching Band

MELROSE—In their last competition before Finals, the Melrose Marching Band earned a gold medal Saturday night, placing 2nd with five bands competing in the division.

With strong performances by Oliver Ames, who earned 1st place, and Methuen, Everett, and North Reading not far behind, Melrose continues to polish their show and impress the judges.
