Wakefield United Have Fantastic Season

THE Wakefield Soccer Association’s Wakefield United Girls' U13 team played another season in Maple (Massachusetts Premier League). Having moved up a division from last season, the team has just finished a very competitive season, which has tested it in all areas of the game. With true “Warrior Spirit” the ladies have risen to the occasion and demonstrated that they too have the ability and desire to compete at the club level. Wakefield finished the spring 2015 season with a very impressive record of 6-1, won its division and earned entry into the end of season GU13 Tournament where the team competed at the Mass. Youth Soccer facility in Lancaster. In the front row (from left to right) are Bridget Noell, Winnie Mylan, Retta Carroll, Paige Dube, Lillian Jones, Abby Mondello and Nicole Calandra. Angels Walk Off As Major Softball Town Champions

IN AN exciting finish to a great game and a great season, the Major League Angels edged the Orioles in the final game of the season, 11-10, to take home the title. The game featured excellent defense, strong pitching, and timely hitting culminated by an exciting walk off hit for the champion Angels. Both teams showed great resilience and exhibited that “never say die” attitude. Wakefield Little League would like to acknowledge both coaching staffs for a tremendous job of developing the softball skills of these fine young girls off the field. Wakefield softball is looking bright for the future and Wakefield Little League is helping pave the way. Thank you to all involved. The members of the team included Alexandra Bernardinelli, Abigail Coughlin, Isabella D'Ambrosio, Alessandra Fiorino, Kyleigh Flannigan, Pamela Janiehs, Abigail Murdocca, Jordyn Pugsley, Charlotte Rossicone, Sophia Rossicone, Bridget Santos and Brooke Wallace.
