MELROSE — Eileen M. (Cashman) Aylward, 79, of Melrose and formerly of Everett, died at the Sunrise Gardner Park in Peabody on Sept. 29.

Eileen was born and raised in Everett and a graduate of Girls Catholic High School in Malden. She resided in Melrose for most of her life and worked as an administrator for the Congregational Retirement Home in Melrose for many years before her retirement at the age of 62.

Eileen was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield for many years. She enjoyed cooking, movies, going to the theater and traveling to Ireland, Scotland and England with her late husband.

Eileen cherished the love she had for her many friends and enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren and “loved them all to pieces.”

She was the beloved wife of the late Charles T. Aylward. She was the loving mother of Siobhan Aylward-Gregorio and her husband Nunzio of Middleton and Charles P. Aylward of Rowley. She was the cherished grandmother of Kevin, Daniel, Julia and Douglas. She was the devoted sister of James M. Cashman of Malden.

The funeral was from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose, on Friday, Oct. 3, at 10:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 11:30 a.m.

Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
