With the April 10 town election just a week-and-a-half away, we would like to encourage local officials running for office to submit a candidate’s statement to the Villager.
Office hopefuls will be allowed one biographical piece about themselves, which we refer to as a candidate’s statement. It can be of any length you deem necessary; if we feel it’s too long we will edit it for space and won’t have much regard for content. In other words, try not to ramble on about how good you are.
Candidates may also submit one letter to our Letters to the Editor section if you want to speak out further about your position on various issues facing our town.
Supporters of candidates can submit letters as well. We will limit these to one letter per supporter, but will not put any limit on the number of support letters per candidate. All letters must be signed and contain a phone number for confirmation.
We also ask that you keep the tone of the letters civil. We have enough of the other type of discourse flowing through the halls of power in Washington to last us awhile.
All letters and candidate statements must be submitted by to the Villager by email (LynnfieldVillager@rcn.com) or standard mail (26 Albion St., Wakefield MA 01880) by 12 p.m. on Monday, April 3, to ensure we treat everyone fairly.
Thank you for understanding, and good luck to all those involved in a campaign this election season.
