WAKEFIELD — James A. Adamczyk, 91, of Wakefield, died Thursday, July 14, at the Winchester Hospital.
Born in Tewksbury on July 23, 1924 he was the son of the late John J. and Grace (Goodsnider) Adamczyk.
Mr. Adamczyk was raised in Boston and later enlisted in the Merchant Marines and served during World War II. He had later worked for the Town of Wakefield Department of Public Works and was a retired foreman.
Mr. Adamczyk was the husband of the late Lillian R. (Favoloro) Adamczyk. He was the father of Edward F. Adamczyk and his wife Maria of Salem, N.H. He is also survived by his niece Linda Urioste of Albuquerque, N.M.
His funeral Mass will be held in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield, on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield prior to the funeral Mass beginning at 9 a.m.
