WAKEFIELD — James S. Creamer, 63, of Wakefield and formerly of Chelsea, died Thursday, January 26 at his residence with his family by his side.
Born in Chelsea on September 13, 1953, he was the son of the late James S. and Lucy (Ryan) Creamer.
James was raised in Chelsea and was educated in the Chelsea public school system. While living in the city, he was well known as a tremendous baseball player and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. During the off season, James found himself rooting for the Boston Bruins and other New England sports teams.
He loved spending time with his family and his treasured memories include two trips to Woodstock with his brother Robert and countless trips to Boston with his wife Lisa, with whom he shared 26 years of marriage. After meeting in Boston all those years ago, James and Lisa renewed their vows on their 25th wedding anniversary in the Public Gardens.
Later in life, James became a cigar aficionado, often found enjoying a cigar on his favorite bench at Lake Quannapowitt.
He was the beloved husband of Lisa M. (Eccles) Creamer. He was the loving father of Jennifer and Stephen Creamer of Wakefield. He was the adored brother of Patricia Schlicher and Dorothy Capone, both of Saugus, Linda Hamel of Lawrence, Nancy Bright of Billerica, Robert Creamer of Brockton and the late John and Richard Creamer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held in the First Baptist Church, 8 Lafayette St., Wakefield on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
Visitation for relatives and friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
